For the more adventurous amongst you there is the new Cap Decouverte sports and leisure centre. Built out of the remains of an old coal mining pit in 2003, how does 1,600 acres containing many kinds of 'outdoor' energetic activities sound? From a huge dri-ski slope to waterskiing and death slides. This complex also holds many rock and pop concerts, stage theatre shows and many other forms of entertainment. How about learning the history of the open pit coal mining, that the park is built on. Or the Titan Park where you can see some of the amazing giants of machines that used to work the mines. You can walk around the Carboniferous Forest and see how coal is formed as you go from 300 million years ago to the present day, encompassing all the fauna and flora of the ages.
